THE CLERKENWELL – LONDON’S NEW STYLE AUTHORITY

Clerkenwell London was originally founded by David J Brown, a tailor by training and fine-wine enthusiast by passion. He’s recently remodelled his brainchild The Clerkenwell Collection and thrills Londoners with a new location. An impressive team on the ground continually and expertly curates the space with the aim to make the most of its surrounding creative neighbourhood and its resident talents as well as the heritage of the architects, watchmakers and other designers the area has historically attracted.

London has now its own design destination of note in a 10,000 sq ft hall of the Clerkenwell London quarter. The space has opened on Farringdon Road after a transformation of their previous brand and the team behind the space have every intention of ensuring it is recognised as much more than just a store. A busy calendar of events, workshops, tastings and classes include hands-on experience, wellbeing sessions and master-classes of various kind.

The idea of this underdaking has always been to bring together high quality products under one roof that cater to multiple facets of your lifestyle – from fashion and accessories to the appreciation of art and illustration. The store is gorgeous, with the high quality products standing out in a sleek, structured space.

Combining design gallery, furniture floor, art & event space and book shop, Clerkenwell London’s remit is to showcase niche and established designers, creatives and artisans. Mixing contemporary and vintage hand-picked homewares, fashion, stationery, art, music and literature, it’s a celebration of innovation and craftsmanship across many industries.

Within an arrangement of different rooms over two floors, much of what is available is specific to Clerkenwell London. The on-site perfumery, for example, features their own in-house brand. The appointment-only personal tailoring service with an experienced in-house tailor offers bespoke and made-to-measure clothing, including their very own signature suit – the ‘Clerkenwell’.

Showcased designers come from all over the world, some of the best choices are from stocks of stationary from Akoto, blankets from Andreas Engesvik, ornamental glassware from Dechem and geometric tableware from Ewelina Wisniosvka. In the neon-labelled Undressing Rooms, customers can try pieces by Stutterheim, Zoe Jordan and Hannibal.
